Debbie Macomber's Dashing Through The Show

I can't believe it is only 2 days until Christmas!! This year has gone so fast and we aren't at the end yet... 

The movie for this week is: Debbie Macomber's Dashing Through The Snow. 

Stranded at an airport at Christmas time, Ashley Harrison accepts a ride from Dash Sutherland, who has just rented the last car in town. As the pair heads north, their adventures include car trouble, adopting a puppy and being secretly tailed by federal agents, who believe Ashley is up to no good. With a hint of romance gradually filling the air will these two fall in love or will their journey bring about an unexpected road bump to romance?

I wasn't sure how I feel about the main male lead, Andrew W. Walker because he has been in two movies with Arielle Kebbel: A Bride for Christmas & Bridal Wave and I really liked them together. But I decided to give these two main actors a chance. 

It isn't your typical romance movie, it has a bit of mystery in it and with quite a few twists and turns that you won't expect, even I didn't realise somethings until it was revealed!! 

To add to this really good movie, there is a adorable puppy! Now tell me who doesn't love a puppy! 

I don't really to say to much because I don't want to give anything away! 

All I will say is watch this movie. No seriously watch it!!!

Chicago Fire S01E02

We are back round for the next episode of Chicago Fire.. sorry it has been a long time!! 

When a construction site collapses, a dying workman asks Severide to send his wife a message. Matt decides to work things out with Hallie. The firemen welcome Nicki, a charming young woman who will be working in payroll and who seems to have a thing for Kelly. The Truck members wonder why their crest is a goat.

This episode made me and my mum cry, which is not hard for both of us! In the pilot we have establish who the characters are but then in this episode we are getting to know them better and what they are like. 

Let just say that Nicki causes some trouble in Firehouse 51 and she isn't as sweet as she seems. 

Kelly is still upset that Heather Darden is refusing to speak to him because she is stating that Kelly is the reason why Andy Darden became a firefighter and is his fault for his death and that Heather will only speak to Casey and still is blaming Casey for Darden death and it takes it toll in the management between the two departments. 

On a more entertaining note, Otis is trying to figure out why Truck 81 has a goat as their crest and he asked a few people and they give quite entertaining answers. For Friends of Fireman Barbecue they inform Mills that he has to dress up in blues. Okay in this episode, it is summer so it is really hot!! So you can imagine how that goes... 

Entertaining and emotional episode, I would definitely recommend this episode to you!

Bravetown

I watched this movie because I saw a thumbnail on Youtube that had Josh Duhamel in it so I gave it a watch the trailer and found out that I was intrigued so I decided to the movie give it ago. 

Bravetown

Josh is a lost soul with an extraordinary musical talent set on a journey to encounter what he was least expecting but undoubtedly needed most. Feeling like it's him against the world at first, his path is crossed by many people looking for their own fate, that in the end, his presence in their lives turns out to be of extraordinary importance.

I really enjoyed the movie to be honest I would watch again more than once. Not only did I watch this movie for Josh Duhamel but once I watched the trailer I realised that Lucas Till in the movie as well. 

Lucas Till portrayed Josh Harvest really well and at the beginning I thought the character was actually older than his was supposed to be. But when we find out that he was only 17 but as the movies go on when he is in school, I actually believed he was 17.

Josh Duhamel who was playing Alex Weller, Josh Harvest's counsellor who had some secrets in his closest that he wasn't too keen to exposed to Josh to begin with.

There are two aspect of the movie that intertwine at points in the movies. There is Josh's DJ and the fact that a lot of people in the town have lost somebody to the war but most of them aren't accepting the fact. I like how the two concepts work together really well. 

When Josh gets to town, it gives some people a way of expressing through music and dance how they are feeling. 

I would highly recommend this movie to anybody.

Beauty & the Beast Pilot

This is a modern version of the classic Beauty & The Beast but it is based in New York in the present day. 

Catherine Chandler witnesses her mother being shot the same night she is saved from her mother's murderers by a supposed beast. Nine years later, now working as a detective for the NYPD, a case leads her to discover that Vincent Keller, an ex-soldier believed to have been killed in action during military service, is actually alive. As Catherine gets to know him, she starts finding out more about her mother's murder and about who (and what) Vincent really is.

We are shown that Vincent Keller the supposedly dead knows about what happened to Catherine on the night of her mothers murder but you don't know why? 

In this show, JT is the character that bring the comedy to this episode, like when he says "dead like dead dead" and "hi, hi, hhii - did I miss something?" are my favourite lines that he said. 

In this episode they talk about different things and we are wondering what it is all about??! It is one of these shows that you want to keep watching because the acting is really good and despite all of the murders it has some comedy to it. 

During the episode we find out that Vincent tries to help victims and he has great sense of smell and hearing. Vincent is one of those characters that you want to like but your aren't sure whether you should or not. 

Then half way through the episode you find out that Vincent is...




the beast that save Catherine 9 years when her mother was murdered. 

Then all the bits and piece that you have already learnt come together and your start to fit the puzzle together as you learn more. 

From this episode you can feel the chemistry and trust between Catherine and Vincent even though they have never officially meet until now. 

You want to find out what will happen next with Catherine and Vincent...until next time.

"And I have a feeling that we are going to have to save each other"

How To Fall In Love

I have watched this movie more than once, maybe you really believe that Harold who is played by Ugly Betty's Eric Mabius is geeky (maybe it is the glasses!) 

Still suffering from the ugly-duckling syndrome that branded his youth, Harold White hires Annie Hayes, the pretty and popular girl he knew in high school, to be his dating coach and help him shed his wallflower approach to romance. Annie even enlists her friend Kim, a waitress at a local diner, to be Harold’s practice date. Annie draws Harold out of his shell and teaches him to win over a new love interest with the help of their shared passion for classic love songs. But when sparks unexpectedly fly between “student” and “teacher,” both Harold and Annie must learn how to make up for past mistakes if they’re going to hold onto true love.

This is a really good movie because there is honesty, comedy and of course romance and for us singles it is really relatable. The confidence that you need to be able to got up to somebody and break the ice.

Chicago Med Pilot

First we have Chicago Fire and then 2 years later we have a spin off called Chicago PD now and then 3 years later we have the next spin off called Chicago Med. 

We are first introduced to some of the characters from Chicago Med in Season 3 Episode 19 of Chicago Fire. 

An emotional thrill ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city's most explosive hospital and the courageous team of doctors who hold it together. They will tackle unique new cases inspired by topical events, forging fiery relationships in the pulse-pounding pandemonium of the emergency room.

If anybody is screamish and don't like needles or blood or anything medical. I would recommend that you don't watch this series. 

So the show starts off with this guy getting on to a train and while this is going on the mayor of Chicago officially opens the Emergency Department for the Hospital. 

Then suddenly the train derails and it is up to the doctors and nurses using the new Emergency Department to team up and work together to try and save as many lives as they possibly can. 

As well as the characters professionally lives, we get a glimpse into their personal lives as well. I got the indication that there might be friendship/romance between two of the characters - I could be wrong though. 

In this episode, there are about 4 storylines going on in relations to the patients but you feel that they spend about the same amount of time on each storyline which is quite nice instead spending all the episode on just one patient. 

This is a really good episode and I hope the rest of the series is as good as Chicago Fire & PD but I don't have any doubts because both have proved to be some of my favourite series! I look forward to what the next episode brings...

I know it is a good episode if it makes me laugh and cry.

Blue Lagoon: The Awakening

I love this movie!! I can't tell you but there is something about it that has made me watch it at least 20 times or more!! 

In this passionate modern day retelling of the classic novel, Emmaline Robinson and Dean McMullen are on two opposing sides of their high school world. But when they are caught in a storm at sea during a Caribbean field trip and stranded on a tropical island, these two teenagers will have to come together in ways they never imagined. Without parents, without cell phones and without help, they will learn how to survive on their own or face the ultimate consequences. As they explore and learn about each other, they also learn about themselves while falling in love, while waiting for rescue on the island.

Emma Robinson and Dean McMullen are complete opposite. Dean is a bit of a loner and use a knife quite a lot of the time which gets him into trouble and Emma is organised and doesn't take any risks in life but when they stranded on an island, not only she learn a new side to Dean but she learns that there is so much out there in the world and what she can achieve if just took things as they came like a wild cat!

I like the fact in this movie that they had the guy from The Blue Lagoon (1980 Version) play the teacher to Dean and Emma - linking the old with the new! 

I also like the fact it is based in modern life because it is quite funny that when they get stranded that they think there is going to be a hotel in tropical island! There is quite a bit of humour in the movie.

I have just realised why I enjoyed the movie so much is because Brendon Thwaites spent half of movie shirtless! Hmm...yummy!

Supergirl Pilot

This is a new show that has just come out this week...so I am happy that this has worked out well that I can actually write about it right from the beginning!! 

Introducing Supergirl... 

At 12 years old, Kara Zor-El escapes doom on planet Krypton to find protection on Earth with the Danver family, where she grows up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learns to hide the extraordinary powers she shares with her cousin, Superman. Now an adult living in National City and working for media mogul Cat Grant, Kara finds her days of keeping her abilities a secret are over when super-secret agency head Hank Henshaw enlists her to help protect the city's citizens from threats. Finally coming into her own, Kara juggle her new responsibilities with her very human relationships.

I could be wrong but I think this story follows on from Superman... 

 

The pilot is actually really good!! I think Melissa Benoist is going to do really well for herself as an actress. You actually believe she is Supergirl. 

 

The pilot has quite a bit of comedy in it as well which is good with all drama that is part of being an hero. The episode starts off that Kara is doubting herself as being an hero and feel that she won't be able measure up to her cousin, Superman.

There is a good introduction to the characters and establishing who the good and the evil characters are!!

Younger Pilot

I think everybody wishes that they had this opportunity to act young again. Well Liza Miller did she is 40 years old and a recently divorced mother. As her daughter Caitlin begins college, her husband David leaves her for a younger woman. Subsequently struggling without her husband's financial support, she attempts to get a job in publishing, which proves difficult for a woman of her age. 

During her hunt, she meets Josh, a 26-year-old man who guesses he and Liza are about the same age. His compliment sparks an idea in Liza: she decides to get a makeover, courtesy of her best friend Maggie, in order to pass herself off as 26 years old. Ultimately, she becomes an assistant to Diana Trout at the publishing firm Empirical Press, where she befriends Kelsey Peters, her 20-something co-worker.

The shows stars Sutton Foster, Debi Mazor, Hilary Duff & Nico Tortorella. 

You can totally believe that the Liza actually looks 26 even when Sutton Foster is 40 years old in real life. What some highlights and different clothes can do to make all the difference?! 

This is a really funny show which all the characters bring - there isn't one that is more funny than the others. At some points, it reminded me of Confessions of a shopaholic starring Isla Fisher especially when Liza types into Google "How do I set up a twitter account?" and in Confession of a shopaholic she types in google in "Good angles on APR" . I think shows is about your never too old to start over and I think is brave that she is because all these liabilities that if her new life doesn't work, then it could cause some issues. 

I really like Josh's character he brings out the risk taking side out of her and makes her want to try different things - I think it also helps her cover if she is dating somebody that is around the same age that she is trying to be but unfortunately Josh doesn't know this! 

Despite the episode only being 25 mins or so, you are curious to see what happens in the next episode and that is a great indicators that is a good show also you are wondering when will she get caught? When will this lie catch up with her?? 

Well...you are going to have to watch the series and find out for yourself!!?

Never Been Kissed

To this day, I can still totally relate to this movie... 

Chicago Sun Times copy editor Josie Gellar (25), who was desperate to graduate from perfectionist copy editor to reporter, gets her chance when the goody owner orders the editor to cover the high-school scene by undercover. Josie, who was a frustrated, ridiculed nerd, gets a popular make-over from her drop-out, naturally funny brother Rob Geller. Both siblings find love and joys of youth again. But in Josie's case, it's sensitive bachelor teacher Sam Coulson, who enjoys sophisticated conversation. As the publication deadline approaches, the price of blowing their cover seems ever more daunting, yet inevitable unless she sacrifices her career. 

Never Been Kissed is a true respective about what High School is like...and some people had it better than others.  

This movie is so funny and really realistic for me because it isn't just about kissing. It is sticking up for what you believe in and fighting for what you want in life whether it is a job or a relationship, you won't get it otherwise. 

With this movie, it gives people hope that there is somebody out there for you whether it takes you 25 years to find them, they are there. Though some people don't actually have to go undercover to find them!!

At some point in everybody lives, they are just trying to fit in which can be quite challenging some times but you have to keep trying. This movie is also about true friendship, there are some people who hang out with other people because they want to be popular and maybe those people aren't really your friends.

You should find somebody that has the same interests and that won't try and put you down to make themselves feel better because that isn't a true friends and it is the same with relationships.

Never Been Kissed may be a oldie but it is a goodie!! 

You might have to kiss a few frogs to find your prince... but I hope everybody finds their prince/princess in the end!! 

Heartland Pilot

This is a show for anybody who likes or loves horses!!

Noted horse whisperer, Marion Fleming and her daughter Amy, have a truck accident during the rescue of an abused horse named Spartan. Marion is killed, Amy wakes up in the hospital, and the family is left with a troubled ranch to run if they wish to carry on Marion's legacy. Marion's father pitches in. Amy's older sister, Lou returns from New York, but must overcome Amy's resentment over Lou's abandoning her roots. Meanwhile, it becomes apparent that Marion was rescuing more than just horses when Ty, a young man with a criminal record shows up to serve his probation period on the ranch. Soon Lou discovers that the family's financial woes may be more serious than anyone knew.

"Healing Horses... Healing Hearts"

It is very challenging for the Fleming family to come to terms with the loss of Marion and they also have a decision to make whether to keep the ranch running and Amy to do what her mother did or sell it?

Now that Lou is back from New York, there is tension between Lou and Amy which is causing some issuing because as soon as she has sorted out the financial aspects of the business she is hoping to go back to New York because that is her home now. 

We are introduced to the character Ty Borden has come to Heartland as part of his probation and he start working as a stable hand and he lives in the loft above the barn.  

Mallory is the Fleming's neighbour and friend to Amy & Jack Bartlett (Lou & Amy grandfather) rand she tends to talk a LOT!! 

Tim Fleming has been out of his children lives for 15 years and he is now back. Tim & Jack aren't on the best terms because left Marion to raise Lou and Amy by herself. 

I started watching this show over a year ago and I literally watched 6 or 7 seasons all over a space of like 3 months. The first day that I started watching it, I watch like 10 episodes in one day because I was really enjoying it. I am addicted to this show, it is just something about it maybe it the cast or the storylines but something about it I love!! 

This show also get me interested in starting horses and I have been riding ever since - I hated having to whip the horses to get them to move fastest due to watching how much Amy hate to whip the horses!! 

I love this show so much and I have now got my friend watching this show because it is a family friendly show and it made me interested in visiting Alberta, Canada as well because it looks so beautiful.

Go on give it try, you might find you love it as much as I do!

Pitch Perfect 2

The most anticipated film of year...Pitch Perfect 2!! 

The Bellas are back, and they are better than ever. After being humiliated in front of none other than the President of the United States of America, the Bellas are taken out of the Aca-Circuit. In order to clear their name and regain their status, the Bellas take on a seemingly impossible task: winning an International competition no American team has ever won. 

In order to accomplish this monumental task, they need to strengthen the bonds of friendship and sisterhood, and blow away the competition with their amazing aca-magic! With all new friends and old rivals tagging along for the trip, the Bellas can hopefully accomplish their dreams once again. 

Hailee Steinfield joins the cast of Pitch Perfect as Emily Junk who is a freshman at Barden University. 

The first movie was great but Pitch Perfect 2 is even better. Fat Amy bring the comedy back in this movie again with her budding romance with Bumper who is back - let just say is not smooth sailing! 

There is now another accapella group on the scene, a German group called Das Sound Machine and they are arch-enemies and they are fighting it out to be Champions of the World's Accappella tournament. 

Throughout the movie let's just say there are a lot of incidents that occur but in order for The Bellas to become champions they have to discover their harmony again which might involve team building exercises!!

But after she meets Jesse, from the rival all-male a cappella group, Beca has a new outlook and takes it upon herself to help the Bellas find their new look and sound and get back into the competition. 

Pitch Perfect has a great combination of music and comedy. 

This movie introduces Anna Kendrick and everybody who watched this movie was thinking that who knew that she sing!?!

This movie is about friendship, love, learning new things about yourself and taking risks. It is a feel good movie for all ages. The Cup Song has become a well known song all over the world.

Chicago Fire Pilot

When I am well and truly bored as well as finding a job!! I watch series as you all know. 

I started watching Chicago Fire a while back but I actually starting watching Chicago PD before that despite the fact that it was a spin off from Chicago Fire when I first saw the promo for Chicago Fire - I wasn't sure that it would be the sort of thing that I would enjoy. 

However there were crossover in the show and I was curious who this characters were. So I decided to take the bullet and watch it and now it is one of my favourite series. 

Before my parents went away on holiday recently, I had been looking at buying the DVD of the first season because they are some series that I feel that particular my mum would enjoy and we enjoying watching series together. 

So I took the plunge and bought the first season of Chicago Fire and I had watch all of them and I am now near the end of season 2 (oh yes... I bought season 2 too, about 3 days later!!) 

So the first episode is where we get introduced to all of the characters. We see in the first 15 minutes, a character called Andy Darden dies in a fire and we see the aftermath of his death and what happens when a new candidate, Peter Mills comes to the house. 

As well as this going on, Gabby Dawson is a EMT for Firehouse 51 and as she is taking this girl to the hospital from an accident - she has to perform an emergency procedure by doing this has caused her to face a disciplinary action. 

I admit that it gets better as episodes go on, there is more storylines and fires. But with the pilot they are just setting the scene. Trust me on this one - stay with it and you might find your next favourite series if you haven't found this already!!

WARNING!

I just want to warn you all you, normally with series there is a hiatus at some point throughout the season or if the season has finished and then we are waiting for the next season to start.

So I refuse to watch the episode before the hiatus & the final episode of the season.

Series

My friends suggested a while ago that I wrote a blog about TV Series and Movies because I watch so many different types of series. So what I am going to do is write a weekly blog on different series and then let you know what I think of certain episode. 

If anybody watches the series that I talk about, I will try and not spoil any aspects of the episodes but I can't promise that I was always remember not to spoil anything so please can you not send me hateful comments!! 

I will try and keep these blogs funny and interesting as possible! 

So what shall I talk about first? I don't know - they are all so good!!
